MICROBIAL COMPONENTS FOR SELF REGULATORY MECHANISM 

a) Photosynthetic bacteria (Paenibacillus sp and Acinetobacter calcoaceticus)
     • Utilize solar energy and simple compounds to produce amino acids, carbohydrates, 

         nucleotides and other   physiological-active substances (Auxin, Cyotkinin 

         and Ethylene) (Lee et.al, 2008 and Bell et.al, 2006)
     • The metabolites can be utilized by other microbes and plants to promote growth.
     • Produce antibiotics to suppress growth of pathogenic bacteria (Wei –Wei et.al, 2008)
     • Forming an environment suitable for growth of other beneficial microbes
     • Promote growth of nitrogen-fixing bacteria and Vesicular-arbuscular Mycorrhizal (VAM)

         – for better absorption of nutrients (Lee et.al, 2008 and Harada et.al, 2005)
     • Converts the nitrogen from air to nitrate in soil
     • Degrades organic matter and harmful matter (McGarth et.al, 1997)

b) Lactic acid bacteria
     • Promotes decomposition of organic material
     • Lactic acid suppresses pathogenic bacteria
     • Solubilized insoluble inorganic nutrients for plants
 

c) Yeast
     • Uses carbohydrates to form essential substances for plant
     • Supports growth of other microbes in the incubation media and soil
     • Promotes development of root tissues
 

d) Actinomyces
    • Decomposes organic matter to produce humic and fulvic acid
